Abstract:

Many data providers make their data available through interfaces such as Web service APIs or SPARQL endpoints.  In order to unleash the potential of these sources for intelligent applications, the data has to be combined across different heterogenous APIs. In this talk, I will present an overview of our work for mapping such sources to ontologies, in two scenarios. In the first scenario, we are concerned with the problem of automatically deriving ontological descriptions for Web services. In the second scenario, we will discuss the on-the-fly alignment between two ontologies via their SPARQL endpoints.
